What is the Age of Consent in Wisconsin?

Wisconsin actually has two ages of consent. The first age of consent is 18. Once you turn 18, you can consent to any sexual activity so long as you’re sober, not handicapped and not under the influence of drugs. If you are under 18 but 16 or older, you can legally consent to sexual contact with a person who is also at least 16. In the old days, folks called that fondling or petting. But any form of sexual intercourse is still illegal here at age 16 or 17. Weirdly, if you engage in intercourse at 16 or 17, Wisconsin views you as both a perpetrator AND a victim. Be cautious. Wait.
